Victoria
Sightseeing and Tours
During our latest visit, we took a
ride in a horse-drawn carriage from Tally-Ho
Sightseeing. The horses were parked right by our condo, so we
hopped in. The tour went by the Parliament building, Beacon Hill
Park, the Emily Carr house, and through some old Victorian neighborhoods.
Not the most exhilarating tour out there, I'm sure, but it was relaxing
and Sandra's family had a great time basking in the sunshine.
After the tour, we drove along the
scenic drive and took in the majesty of the Vancouver Island
coastline. The Olympic Mountains framed the horizon and the mansions
hung from the cliffs. People ran and walked their dogs along the
walking paths, and kids played in the parks. It only took an hour
or so, and it was quite striking. To learn more about the scenic
drive, ask the visitor's center.
There is a lot to see in Victoria,
and you may need some help to take it all in. You can take a tour
in a
double-decker
bus or a horse-drawn carriage, or drive yourself around the scenic Vancouver
Island coast. The listings below will help give you some ideas.
