GRESHAM GOLF COURSE -
OUR COMMENTS
Maintenance: This course is
showing it's age - the grass is dry and thin, and brown spots
are prevalent.
Scenery: Most straight, flat, open
fairways. The course is surrounded by subdivisions
without foliage barriers. There is a creek that runs
through the middle which you have to hit over on a few holes -
that's nice. Otherwise, pretty dull surroundings.
Fun: A few holes where you have to
hit over the creek add some fun to the round, but other than
that - the course is pretty bland. Flat, straight, and
open. The third hole has a lake that stretches from the
tee to the green - it's only a par-3, but kind of a fun hole.
Safety: You may dodge some balls as
you play, but there are no streets to cross.
Staff: Nice guys here.
They've been very friendly to us. They'll let you play
the back 9 if you ask.
Design: Pretty average - no real
man-made hazards to speak of except the lake, but the walks
are moderate and the course layout makes sense.
Value: There are a lot better
courses in the area that you can play at for about the same
price.
Other Comments: The 9th hole is
backed by an apartment building - don't overshoot the green or
you'll lose your ball over the fence. The fairways are
lined often with homes - if you mis-hit, you'll find your
balls bouncing off of rooftops. We probably won't play
this course again - there are just too many better courses for
this price range around. |
