This slide show will take you
on a virtual photo tour of our Labor Day backpacking trip through the Goat
Rocks Wilderness of Washington State. The Crest trip takes you along
the highest and most spectacular portion of the Pacific Crest Trail in
Washington. Unparallelled vistas of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, Mt. St.
Helens, and the Goat Rocks are all around as you climb the ups and downs
of this 25-mile strip of trail.
You can begin this trip at
White Pass, but we started by taking the North Fork of the Tieton Trail
#1118, and made camp at McCall Basin. Many people start at White
Pass, and camp at Shoe Lake. If you choose this option, four days
might be a good idea. Our trip took three days, and hooked up with
the Nannie Ridge trail, ending up at Walupt Lake.
